Tai Pei – Frequently Asked Questions

Ask and you shall receive. The following contains answers to some of the most Frequently Asked Questions regarding Nutrition, Cooking, Allergens and other topics. Please feel free to contact us if you have a question that is not addressed below.

Q: Are any of the Tai Pei products Vegan?

A: At the present time we do not have any Vegan items available.

Q: Are the frozen vegetables in your products as healthy as fresh?

A: Our frozen vegetables maintain their nutritional content because they are flash-frozen immediately after harvest, so you can enjoy the most nutritious and delicious vegetables whenever you like.

Q: What is a serving size?

A: The serving size, or portion, of a food product or meal is regulated by the FDA and the USDA to ensure that nutritional labels are consistent and easy to read from product to product. A serving size is defined as the amount of a food product or meal that has been deemed as usual or recommended for an average adult, unless indicated otherwise for children. The weight, volume, or unit of measurement for a serving size is indicated on the packaging.

Q: Should I leave the plastic wrap on the container during the cooking process?

A: Yes, do not open the plastic wrap until after cooking is complete for our single-serve entrées. Please refer to the instructions on each package for the most up-to-date instructions.

Q: If I don’t have a microwave, can I prepare your products on the stove or in the oven?

A: Tai Pei entrées (11–14.2 oz) were designed to be prepared in the microwave. However, some of our appetizers, such as Egg Rolls and Potstickers, can be prepared on the stove or in the oven. Please refer to the package directions for specific preparation information.

Q: Do you have any tips for heating your products in the microwave?

A: Read the directions on the package before beginning. Remember that microwave ovens vary in their rate of cooking. Compact ovens may heat more slowly than full-size ovens. Use the cooking/heating time given on the food package as a guide.

Q: Do I have to defrost your products before cooking?

A: It is not necessary to defrost our products prior to cooking. Our meals and appetizers were created with the ease and convenience of our consumers in mind. Therefore, they can go directly from the freezer to the microwave, stove top or oven. Refer to the cooking/heating instructions provided on the package.

Q: Do your products contain allergens?

A: Our products may contain allergens. However, if a common allergen is an ingredient in our food, it will be listed on the ingredient statement even if it appears in small quantities. We are also available to answer any questions that will help consumers decide which products are best for them.

Q: Can I purchase products directly from your company?

A: Unfortunately, due to the expense of shipping frozen products, we are unable to ship directly to the consumer.

Q: I love the sauces that come with your products, are they sold separately?

A: At this time, our sauces are not available for purchase.

Q: Is your company working on any new products?

A: Yes! We’re always working to bring delicious new items to you and your family. We love hearing from our loyal consumers, so please let us know if there’s something new you’d like to see in your local supermarket.
